Self-Reliance Empowerment and Enterprise Development for Poor Families (SEED4PF) is a household food security and Self-employment initiative being piloted to provide result-oriented outcome for designing an intervention that can be adopted among poor families in Kenya to address food insecurity and unemployment which is affecting many women and youth. This pilot phase is targeting 100 poor households with a practical learning on Agripreneurship. The project is introducing climate smart modern vegetable farming technology coupled with strengthening market value chain. the project is targeting women and youth because they are the majority with no source of income. SEED4PF project is being supported by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Women Business Hub working together with Grassroots Communities to develop Social Entrepreneurship to drive social change

Social enterprises create jobs, provide socially innovative services and goods, facilitate social inclusion and promote a more sustainable economy. Social enterprises also tend to be better integrated within the communities they serve and where their social impact is felt.

  Community engagement can be complex and labor-intensive and require dedicated resources such as time, funding, and people with the necessary skills. Citizens and community’s organization leaders in rural areas are struggling to make the right choices for the communities and issues they address. Building and implementing effective strategies requires a solid grounding in the best tools, techniques, and information available. Women Business Hub is one of the community organizations championing Community engagement strategies in addressing social determinants of Health in Western Kenya region.

 Young Agripreneurs involved in different value chains in food systems. Women Business Hub is serving as learning Centre for these young people seeking information, skills, knowledge, networks, and mentorship to promote their ventures and contribute to sustainable food systems.
