Regenerative Agriculture in Family Farming for Resilience and Sustainable Living
Regenerative agriculture is a farming method that aims to improve soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience. It aims to repair degraded land, sequester carbon, and sustainably boost agricultural productivity. As climate change provides enormous difficulties to agriculture, involving youth in regenerative agriculture will be a feasible strategy to lessen its effects and improve sustainable food production. Women Business Hub is developing regenerative agriculture in western Kenya by collaborating with women, youth, and non-binary individuals.
Women Business Hub educates young
people about the value of regenerative agriculture and its role in combatting
climate change. The organization offers youth interested in regenerative
agriculture specific training and capacity-building activities such as Soil
conservation, agroforestry, water management, and integrated pest management
approaches.
Women Business Hub is promoting
vertical farming techniques to assist young farmers who do not have access to
land for agricultural purposes, particularly in slum areas where farm land availability
is a challenge. Furthermore, the
