Community organizations and networks are uniquely positioned to interact with affected communities, respond quickly to community needs and issues, and engage with affected and vulnerable groups. They offer direct services to communities while also advocating for better programming and policy environments. This allows them to influence the development, reach, implementation, and oversight of public systems and policies, as well as the contribution of a community to health.
Self-Reliance Empowerment and Enterprise Development for Poor Families (SEED4PF) is a household food security and Self-employment initiative being piloted to provide result-oriented outcome for designing an intervention that can be adopted among poor families in Kenya to address food insecurity and unemployment which is affecting many women and youth. This pilot phase is targeting 100 poor households with a practical learning on Agripreneurship. The project is introducing climate smart modern vegetable farming technology coupled with strengthening market value chain. the project is targeting women and youth because they are the majority with no source of income. SEED4PF project is being supported by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
